Easter moves every year. Easter Sunday falls between 22 March and 25 April, so check the dates below before you plan. This page uses Western Easter, which most shops in the US and UK follow. Orthodox Easter is often on a different Sunday.

Digital egg hunt

Hide five small egg pictures in your posts and stories over one week. People count them and comment the total to enter. Every comment goes into the draw, right answer or not, so it stays a draw and not a quiz. Share a countdown to the day you draw.

Prize idea: A chocolate and treats box, or a spring bundle of your products.

Egg hunt in the shop with a prize wheel

Hide paper eggs around the shop over the Easter weekend. Anyone who finds one brings it to the counter and spins the prize wheel. No purchase needed. Show every prize and how many are left.

Prize idea: Small prizes on most slices, like a chocolate egg or a sticker sheet, and one bigger hamper.

Spring bake or craft photo contest

Ask for photos of Easter bakes or crafts. Two or three judges score each photo on effort, creativity and theme, using the same scorecard, and the highest total wins. Post the top three with their makers' permission.

Easter basket to share

Build a basket from your products, or with a few local partners. Ask people to comment who they would share it with. Draw the winner from the comments a week before Easter so the basket arrives in time.

When should I launch an Easter giveaway?

About three weeks before Easter Sunday, with entries open for two weeks. That leaves a week to pick the winner and send the prize before the long weekend.

Is an egg hunt a contest or a draw?

If everyone who takes part goes into a random draw, it's a draw. If only correct answers can win, it's a contest, and your rules should explain how answers are checked.

Should the giveaway run over the Easter weekend?
