  2. Clean the list: remove duplicates, merge bonus entries and exclude staff or past winners.
  3. Set the number of winners and backup winners, then pick your winners.
  4. Share the draw link. Your followers can open it and watch the same winner come up.

Questions and answers

Is the giveaway picker really random?

Yes. Each draw starts from a random seed made by your browser's secure random number generator (the Web Crypto API), and every ticket in the pool has the same chance. The seed goes into the proof link, so anyone can re-run the draw and get the same winners. For extra trust, choose Public randomness (drand): your list is locked first, then a public random number that nobody knew in advance decides the draw.

How do I prove the giveaway draw was fair?

After the draw, copy the proof link and share it with your audience. It opens the verify page, which re-runs the draw from the saved seed and checks that the winners match. With Public randomness (drand), the seed comes from a drand round published after you locked the list, so you couldn't choose it. If you use Redraw one, the new link records that too.

Do you store my list of entries?

No. The list is read and drawn in your browser and is never uploaded to us. To save you retyping, the last pasted list stays in this browser's storage until you press Clear. Uploaded files are never saved. The proof link includes the entry names when the list is short enough to fit, so share it only where that's fine.

Can I give some people extra entries?

Yes. Add an entries column (for example Entries, Tickets or Bonus) with a whole number for each row, and that person gets that many tickets in the draw. You can also choose Merge into extra entries, so a duplicate row adds its entries to the first one instead of being removed. Keep One prize per person on if nobody should win twice.

How do I pick a giveaway winner from Google Forms?

In Google Forms, open the Responses tab and click the Sheets icon to link the responses to Google Sheets. In Sheets, choose File › Download › Comma-separated values (.csv). Upload that file here: we pick the name and email columns for you, and you can change either one.

How many entries can the giveaway picker handle?

Up to 200,000 rows, pasted or from a file of up to 50 MB, with no signup and no fee. Bonus entries can add up to 2,000,000 tickets in total. For numbered raffle tickets, a range can hold up to 1,000,000 numbers.

What are alternates in a giveaway?

Alternates are backup winners, drawn in order at the same time as the winners. If a winner doesn't reply or can't accept the prize, press Redraw one next to their name: the first alternate takes their place, and the proof link records the change.
